Launch of Wicklow Disability and Inclusion Strategy

Wicklow County Council's Disability and Inclusion Steering Committee (DISC) recently launched the first Disability and Inclusion Strategy for County Wicklow.

As proud members of DISC, it's been our privilege to be involved in the development of this strategy in recent months - and it is gratifying to note that this is the first such strategy to be developed in the whole of Ireland.

The strategy was developed with the active input of disabled people from across the county - both from wide consultation and the participation of disabled people as members of DISC - and has very specific measurable actions with timelines to ensure that it will not just sit on a shelf. We look forward to continuing to work with others on DISC to ensure its implementation over the coming months and years.

Copies of the strategy are available from Wicklow County Council and will soon be available to read on their website.
