Evaluation of IMPACT Initiative

Group of people with their certificates at IMPACT Initiative

Our IMPACT Initiative provides employment supports for people with disabilities in the Bray and North Wicklow area. IMPACT was set up in 2022 as part of the Measure to Support People with Disabilities, with funding from the Dormant Accounts Fund.

An independent evaluation of the first ten months of operation of IMPACT has found that the project successfully supported many people with a disability to progress towards employment and also added to and enhanced service provision in Bray and North Wicklow.

The report recommended that IMPACT be considered as a long-term service and we're absolutely delighted to announce that funding has been received to continue the service until the end of 2023.

"To say that IMPACT has been a major success would be an understatement. IMPACT has not only supported many people with a disability to progress towards employment, but they have also added significantly and enhanced service provision in Bray and North Wicklow.

This evaluation has found that IMPACT has been effective because of the approaches used and because of the sheer determination of the staff and services involved with it to improve the lives of people with disabilities and support them towards employment.

IMPACT has undoubtedly been ‘impactful’ and this initiative, as it has been developed, is worth considering as a long-term service concreted into the service structure of Bray and North Wicklow. Its effectiveness has been so significant that its approach to practice has the potential of being streamlined at a national level."
