BAP Disability Network action on Make Way Day

Members of Disability Network outside Bray Town Hall with signs saying #MakeWayDay

Members of Bray Area Partnership’s Disability Network met up in Bray recently to show support for Make Way Day 2023, which took place on Friday 22nd September.

Staff and members from RehabCare Bray, the IMPACT Initiative and Bray Area Partnership shared a photo opportunity outside Bray Town Hall with Make Way Day signs. They then went their separate ways to survey their own local areas around the town for obstacles on the streets to post online using the #MakeWayDay23 hash tag and online survey tool.

Make Way Day is an annual Disability Federation of Ireland (DFI) campaign to make way on our streets for people with disabilities and raise public awareness about the problems caused by obstacles blocking footpaths – such as vehicles parked on footpaths, bikes chained to lamp posts, illegally-placed sandwich boards and forgotten bins.

The public is asked each year to support the campaign via social media and post photos of obstacles in their local area using the DFI’s user-friendly online survey tool.
